Rothbury Court is a sheltered housing complex situated on the outskirts of St Helens, offering independent living with support when residents require it. It is close to local parks, shops, churches and local amenities. A recent developement of landscaping of a derelict colliery site is close by and this now forms part of the Liverpool Forrest, ideal for walks.

Accomodation

The scheme consists of 43 flats, comprising of 1x2 bed ground floor, 3x2 bed 1st floor (1 with stair lift), 20x1 bed 1st floor (5 with stair lift), 17x1 bed ground floor, plus 2 x ground floor flats adapted for wheelchair users - with level access shower. The scheme also offers covered, secure parking. Well maintaned communal gardens are available for residents use should they wish. All flats are electric and are fitted with a pull cord lifeline alarm system.

Community Area

In the communal room residents have the opportunity for social interaction, with weekly coffee mornings, bingo and domino nights, or simply to relax with a book from the well stocked library. We encourage residents to join the Tenants Association and attend the monthly meetings, this allows residents to put ideas into improving the service they receive.

Services

Every 6 weeks the mobile library visits the scheme. The local bus service passes the scheme at 20 minute intervals, offering free transport all over the merseyside area to the over 60's. Also, local police community support officers hold monthly surgeries in the communal room.

Support

The Scheme Manager is in attendance 8-30AM-4PM daily, Monday to Friday, at all other times cover is provided by St Helen's careline, offering 24/7 365 days per year. SAHA's Customer Service Centre deal with all repair requests, plus any enquiries residents may have. Where residents need assistance with any personal care issues, these can be provided by other agencies accessed via social services. The Scheme Manager can help arrange this, if required.
