Bridging the Gap
In partnership with The Salvation Army, SAHA has been developing its 'Bridging the Gap' project. The Project aims to help support residents in resolving the issues that arise from moving on from a temporary supported environment to independent living. These issues can include:
Loneliness and isolation
Lack of basic furniture and cooking facilities
Lack of links to the community
Through partnership working between residents, the local Salvation Army Officers, the LifeHouses/agency managed centres and SAHA Housing Officers, support and information is shared to ensure that the resident is able to access the basics needed to succeed in a tenancy, to be able to access local services and to be able to access local community activities in order to build up positive friendships and relationships.
