Supporting For Success!

In April 2009, the CLG introduced a refreshed Quality Assessment Framework for Supporting People funded services following substantial consultation to which we where pleased to be able to contribute.

The Quality Assessment Framework has been a key driver of quality and consistency in housing related support services since the 2003 commencement of Supporting People funding. In response to the refreshed framework SAHA is pleased to launch its 'Supporting for Success' initiative.

'Supporting for Success' is our corporate approach to ensuring high quality for support services aligned with levels A and B of the refreshed QAF standards. At its heart is a comprehensive action plan designed to promote consistency while also recognising the need for local flexibility and service user involvement.

The initiative sets a clear direction for continuous improvement and a framework for service users and staff at all levels to identify and share best practice. In addition, 'Supporting for Success' will ensure that support needs and practices are integrated into policy reviews and the organisation's business plan.

A key element to 'Supporting for Success' is engaging service users and staff to consider the impact of the actions they are taking and, where appropriate, undertake planned positive risk taking as part of support planning to build confidence and risk management skills.
